At WomanCare, we believe every woman deserves pregnancy care that honors both her medical needs and her personal preferences. That’s why our team includes both board-certified OB/GYN physicians and certified nurse-midwives, working side by side to deliver whole-woman care from your first prenatal visit through postpartum recovery.
Our midwifery program is designed to complement the clinical expertise of our physician team, offering a deeply personal, holistic approach within a fully integrated practice. Whether you’re drawn to midwifery care, physician-led care, or a combination of both, WomanCare supports your choice.
Certified nurse-midwives (CNMs) are highly trained, licensed healthcare professionals who specialize in supporting women through pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum care. At WomanCare, our board-certified midwives hold advanced nursing graduate degrees and specialized, doctoral-level midwifery training, and they practice under the collaborative supervision of our OB/GYN physicians.
Midwifery care is known for its emphasis on:
What sets WomanCare apart is not just the quality of care from our individual providers; it’s how seamlessly our midwives and physicians work together. Our OB/GYN doctors bring deep clinical expertise, including experience in high-risk pregnancies, surgical care, and complex obstetric management. Our midwives bring a nurturing, relationship-centered approach that many patients find deeply reassuring.
Together, they ensure that every patient, regardless of her care path, receives the highest standard of evidence-based, compassionate care.
Our midwives practice collaboratively with WomanCare’s board-certified OB/GYN physicians. This means that if your needs change at any point during your pregnancy, whether that’s a shift in risk level, a need for surgical consultation, or a request for additional medical management, our physicians are available and involved. You are never outside the umbrella of comprehensive physician-led care.
Midwifery care is a great option for many women, particularly those with low-risk pregnancies who are interested in a natural, low-intervention birth experience. More specifically, it may be a strong fit for those who are:
Of course, not every pregnancy follows the same path. Women with high-risk pregnancies, chronic health conditions, or a planned cesarean birth will be best served by our OB/GYN physicians as their lead providers.
In many cases, our team may recommend a shared care approach, in which a midwife and a physician are involved at different stages, to ensure you have the right expertise at every step.
When you choose midwifery care at WomanCare, you can expect:
(Please note: our midwifery services are provided in a clinic setting. We do not offer in-home births or in-home visits.)
Choosing your care team is one of the most meaningful decisions you will make during your pregnancy. At WomanCare, you don’t have to choose between personal attention and clinical excellence—you get both.
