Midwifery Care at WomanCare
Whole-woman care, delivered with the trust and presence that midwifery makes possible.
What is Midwifery Care?
Midwifery care is personalized, evidence-based support for women throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
Our Certified Nurse Midwives (CNMs) are trained healthcare providers who partner with patients to offer safe and attentive care, focusing on your personal experience every step of the way.
For patients, working with a midwife means receiving:
- Longer, more personal prenatal visits and screenings
- Guidance on nutrition, fitness, and birth preparation
- Support during labor and delivery (when eligible and available)
- Gynecologic services, including annual exams and birth control counseling
- Postpartum and breastfeeding support, plus women’s health across life stages
What to Expect
Whether you’re planning for your first baby or seeking a provider who sees you as a whole person, here’s what you can expect when you see a midwife at WomanCare:
A Relationship-Centered Approach
Midwives take time to get to know you; your goals, your concerns, and your preferences. You can expect longer visits, open conversations, and a supportive environment where your voice matters.
Collaborative, Expert Care
Certified Nurse Midwives are licensed professionals with advanced training in women’s health. At WomanCare, midwives work closely with our OB/GYN team, so you receive seamless, coordinated care no matter what your journey brings.
Support at Every Stage
From your first prenatal appointment to postpartum follow-ups, or even annual well-woman visits, midwives are here to provide guidance, education, and whole-person support. You’ll feel empowered and informed every step of the way.
Birth Planning, With Flexibility
If you’re pregnant, your midwife will walk you through your options for labor and delivery. While midwife attendance at birth depends on eligibility and availability, your midwife will help you prepare for a birth plan that aligns with your needs and preferences.
Insurance Information
Most insurance plans cover midwifery care as part of routine women’s health and maternity services. This typically includes prenatal visits, annual exams, and birth-related care when provided by a Certified Nurse Midwife.
However, specific coverage may vary depending on your plan and eligibility for midwife-attended delivery.
At WomanCare, our team will review your benefits with you and clearly explain any potential out-of-pocket costs ahead of time so you can focus on your health, not your paperwork.
